 Dog Days of Winter...

Today Koda and I made her favorite Pumpkin and Peanut Butter cookies. I found a couple recipes online a few weeks back and didn't quite like all the ingredients they had in them (didn't sound yummy) so I tweaked it a little and they came out great so we made them again today. They super easy and Koda LOVES which was the goal so that makes me happy! She is also gifting them to a few of her dogie pals.. Here is how I made them :)

Ingredients:
. 2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flower
  . 2 eggs
. 1 1/4 cup canned pumpkin (only use pumpkin puree, NOT pumpkin pie filling)
. 1/4 cup Peanut Butter (smooth or crunchy) I used an all natural smooth one
  .1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
. water (as needed to combine the ingredients)
& Additional flour for rolling (I used all purpose white)

First I preheated the oven to 350 F and Placed all the ingredients in a bowl

Then mix it all together really well and add the water as needed to combine all ingredients and make a dough that will roll out so it can be cut with a cookie cutter. Roll out the dough 1/4" thickness and cut with a cookie cutter.

Place on a greased cookie sheet for 20 minutes (add 5 minutes for crisper treats). When you pull them out let them cool completely  before giving to your dog.
Storage:  I would recommend less than one week in a dog treat jar, 3 weeks in the refrigerator and 2 months in the freezer.

Koda loved licking the fork and my fingers lol, I love making her treats because I know whats going into them. She has a soft tummy and sometimes her treats can give her the runs :( this way I can make sure that doesn't happen and they are healthy.
